Guangzhou City in south China's Guangdong Province reported five domestic asymptomatic COVID-19 cases on Friday, local officials told a press briefing.

There're a total of four confirmed COVID-19 cases and 10 asymptomatic cases in the city since last Friday when the first local infection in a fresh regional cluster was found.

All gatherings on school campuses are halted for now in Guangzhou. 

Three schools to which some of the confirmed patients are linked have been temporarily closed while some classes in five other schools in Guangzhou have shifted to online education following the detection of asymptomatic cases.
