As summer arrives, the lotus flowers in Liangzhu Archaeological Site Park in Hangzhou City of east China's Zhejiang Province are blossoming and enticing thousands of tourists.
Lotus is famous for its big, beautiful leaves as an elegant flower that blossoms during summertime. In China, lotus could be found growing in ponds for ornamental purposes.
The Liangzhu Archaeological Site Park is located in the Liangzhu Ruins site, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Currently, there are more than 1.3 hectares of lotus flowers in the park, which are mainly growing in the areas near the southern gate and the western city wall.
"The best time for appreciating the lotus flowers is in mid-to-late June when the blossoming lotus flowers become a sea. The flowers are in full bloom and make the summer cool and refreshing," said Hong Biying, a staff member of the marketing and planning department at the park.
