May 29 marks the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers. More than 2,500 Chinese peacekeepers are on duty in eight mission areas and at UN headquarters. Since 1990, China has participated in more than 30 peacekeeping operations and has dispatched more than 50,000 peacekeepers. Sixteen Chinese soldiers have given their lives for world peace.
