Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday called on China and Poland to explore the alignment of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) with Poland's recovery program New Polish Order.

Wang made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau in Guiyang City, southwest China's Guizhou Province.

New Polish Order is a pandemic reconstruction plan, designed to facilitate the use of Brussels' structural funds.

Wang called on the two countries to enhance cooperation in areas including trade, logistics, health care, technological innovation, energy and digital economy, jointly push forward the innovation-driven economy and create new growth points in bilateral ties.

Wang said China welcomes Poland's enterprises to promote high-quality products and services in China and he hopes Poland can offer a fair, open and non-discriminatory environment for Chinese enterprises in Poland.

China and Europe, as two major powers and civilizations in the world, have broad common interests, Wang said, adding that the two sides are cooperative partners instead of competitors.

He called on China and Europe to deepen understanding and remove obstacles blocking bilateral cooperation via constructive dialogues.

Rau, for his part, said China adepts at applying the unique wisdom accumulated over thousands of years to address the challenges facing modern society.

China's successful and efficient handling of the COVID-19 pandemic fully approves it, he added.

Rau said Poland hopes to expand the export of agricultural products to China and deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, logistics, and education.

Every country needs a peaceful and stable environment to develop, said Rau, adding that Poland believes all countries should strengthen communication to reduce friction, expand consensus and focus on cooperation.

He said the China-EU investment agreement is the best choice that suits the interests of the two sides and called on China and the EU to properly handle the issue.
