Since the start of the pandemic, 32 members of parliament in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have died from COVID-19. Vice President Kabund said the country is reporting over 31,000 confirmed cases and 780 deaths in total. The DRC's vaccination campaign has stuttered after a rollout delay because of safety concerns about the AstraZeneca shot. Around 75 percent of the 1.7 million doses it received in March were reallocated the following month to make sure they were used before they expired.
