Fifteen wild Asian elephants wander into China's Yuxi City
Fifteen wild Asian elephants are wandering into human settlements in China's southwestern province of Yunnan. On Saturday evening, the herd entered a village in Yuxi City, and then moved northwest. Local authorities are deploying drones to monitor the elephants, and fire trucks to keep them out of the city center. Authorities have warned residents to prepare to evacuate if necessary. So far, there have been no casualties or major damage. The herd left its natural habitat in April.
