Chinese mainland reports 20 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 20 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Sunday, all in southern Guangdong Province, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Monday.

Seven cases from overseas were also recorded on Sunday, but there were no new deaths related to COVID-19, the NHC said.

Nineteen new asymptomatic cases were recorded on the same day, while 400 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 91,099, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total numbers of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,837 (11,572 recoveries, 210 deaths)

Macao: 51 (49 recoveries)

Taiwan: 8,160 (1,133 recoveries, 109 deaths)
