India's annual economic growth plunges by record 7.3%

India's economy contracted 7.3 percent in the 2020-21 fiscal year, official data showed Monday as coronavirus lockdowns put millions out of work.

The country's economy grew by 1.6 percent in the January and March quarter year on year, official data showed.
