A 7.4-magnitude earthquake hit Maduo County in Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Qinghai Province on May 22. 

Forty tents were put up to shelter the 144 affected students at a Tibetan boarding school at the epicenter in the county's Huanghe Township. As it is Children's Day on June 1, teachers and students recovering from the impact of the earthquake attend activities, such as young pioneer joining ceremony, theatrical performances and birthday celebrations.
