Every year close to the end of May, the Cardiocrinum cathayanum (E.H. Wilson) Stearn embraces its peak blooming season in Badagongshan Nature Reserve in Zhangjiajie City, central China's Hunan Province. This year is no exception. Scattered among lush trees in a small valley in the nature reserve, the flowering plants create a land of peace for people to enjoy tranquility in the wild.
The plant, which can be found in east and central China, enjoys moist, cool and shady environments.
