China is calling for an explanation regarding the U.S.'s bio-weapons research at Fort Detrick, an army base in the state of Maryland. A foreign ministry spokesperson responded to questions about media reports from 2019 regarding breaches at the base, as well as its history with biological warfare and cooperation with Japan's Unit 731.
