A senior Japanese Olympic Committee official has reportedly killed himself by jumping in front of a Tokyo subway train. Nippon TV, quoting police sources, said 52-year-old Yasushi Moriya was taken to the hospital but was confirmed dead two hours later. He's described by Japanese media as an accounting manager with the committee. Police are still investigating Moriya's apparent suicide. His death comes as controversy grows over whether Japan should go ahead with the Games despite a surge in COVID-19 cases.
