India has reported the world's highest single-day death toll from COVID-19. Health authorities said 6,148 people died in the past day. This came after the eastern state of Bihar revised its figures to include victims previously unaccounted for. That broke the record of the United States, which recorded more than 5,400 COVID-19 deaths on February 12.
