Before a Peking Opera show goes on stage, like many other performing arts, the artists would run through rounds of rehearsals to polish the production to its best. Join CGTN for a cue-to-cue rehearsal of "Baidicheng" and meet the performers, orchestra and stage technicians putting together this classic play.

"Baidicheng" or "Baidi City," which means "White Emperor City," is a classic play adapted from the 14th-century Chinese historical novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms." It tells the story of dying Emperor Liu Bei, who entrusts his military advisor General Zhuge Liang to assist Crown Prince Liu Shan in administering state affairs.

Baidi City is an ancient fortress and temple complex located at the top of Baidi Mountain on the northern bank of the Yangtze River in Fengjie County, Chongqing Municipality, southwest China.
