Northeast China has reported an increasing number of sightings of endangered Siberian tigers in recent years, a sign of population growth and territorial expansion.

In recent years, China has launched initiatives including afforestation and bans on commercial logging to restore the felines' natural habitats, which are contributing factors to the discovery of more Siberian tigers in the region.

The recovery of large carnivore populations is the result of afforestation efforts and ecosystem improvements in China. Experts say the ecosystem is only complete and sound with top predators on its food chains.
