EU leaders set a goal to vaccinate 60% of people in developing countries with COVID-19 shots by March 2022

President Emmanuel Macron of France, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, as well as the heads of the EU Commission and Council, agreed to step up efforts to share COVID-19 vaccines with the developing world.

They agreed on a goal of 60% vaccination in the developing countries, especially Africa, by March 2022, Macron's office said on Friday.
