Chinese Legislation passed Anti-Sanctions Law amid rising tensions with the West. Professor Wang Jiangyu, director of the Centre for Chinese and Comparative Law City University of Hong Kong, says the significance of the law is that it provides a legal tool for the Chinese government, firms, and Chinese citizens, who are negatively affected by foreign sanctions to pick actual countermeasures against foreign sanctions.
