The announcement of the coveted Magnolia Awards during a 90-minute gala brought the curtain down on the Shanghai TV Festival (STVF) on Thursday.

"Out of Poverty," produced by China Media Group (CMG), won the Organizing Committee's Special Award, and "China In Ancient Books," also produced by CMG, won Best TV Variety Show. The war drama "Crossing the Yalu River" took the Grand Jury prize.

"The Age of Awakening," which was broadcast on CMG, won in the Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor categories.

The International Communication Award and Jury prize went to "Hold Together" which tells the story of how Chinese people have fought against COVID-19. "Mining Town" on the Chinese people's great efforts to get rid of poverty won as Best Chinese TV Series.

Best Adapted Screenplay was awarded to "Stage Builder," and Best Actress and International Communication Award went to "Nothing But Thirty" which tells the love and career stories of three women in their 30s. "My Best Friend's Story" won for Best Art.

CMG adopted 5G+8K technology for multicamera shooting and production of the awarding ceremony. The 5G + 8K integrated production successfully transmitted 8K signals in real time, and simultaneously edited the received 8K content. The images transmitted through two 8K signals perfectly restored the stunning early summer view.

The festival was sponsored by the National Radio and Television Administration, CMG and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.

It lasted five days, with a theme on celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
