Taiwan region residents call for vaccination as death rate grows
The Taiwan region on Friday reported over 280 new coronavirus infections, as well as 24 deaths. The COVID-19 death rate in Taiwan is nearly three percent, above the global average. The region is battling its worst wave of infections amid a severe shortage of vaccines and medical supplies. Many residents are calling for the authorities to make arrangements for locals to get vaccinated on the Chinese mainland. Kinmen County is one of the them.
