If you're a fan of ships, don't "miss the boat" this time! CGTN is visiting the well-known Jiangnan Shipyard, under the China State Shipbuilding Corporation. Located on an island to the northeast of Shanghai, the shipyard is responsible for building, repairing and converting civilian and military ships. The history of the shipyard traces back to 1865 in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the shipyard started to play vital roles in the development of China's national industry and innovation. At present, its main production includes liquefied gas carriers, car carriers, container ships and icebreakers. Our reporter will board a liquefied gas tanker set to be finished this year.
