Chinese mainland reports 23 new COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 23 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, four locally transmitted cases in southern Guangdong Province and 19 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Monday.

No new deaths related to COVID-19 have been recorded. 

Twenty-four new asymptomatic cases were recorded the same day, while 391 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 91,451, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636. 

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,877 (11,598 recoveries, 210 deaths) 

Macao: 52 (51 recoveries)                  

Taiwan: 12,921 (1,133 recoveries, 437 deaths)
