Chinese mainland reports 21 new COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 21 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, all from overseas, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Wednesday.

No new deaths related to COVID-19 have been recorded. 

Thirty-six new asymptomatic cases were recorded the same day, while 421 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 91,492, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636. 

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,880 (11,600 recoveries, 210 deaths) 

Macao: 52 (51 recoveries)                  

Taiwan: 13,241 (1,133 recoveries, 460 deaths)
