Magnitude-6.1 quake strikes off eastern Indonesia

A magnitude-6.1 earthquake which hit Indonesia's eastern province of Maluku on Wednesday did not trigger a tsunami, the Indonesian meteorology and geophysics agency said.

The quake, which hit at 11:43 a.m. local time (0443 GMT), was recorded with a depth of 10 km.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
