Chinese mainland reports 23 new COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 23 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday – one locally transmitted in south China's Guangdong Province and 22 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Friday.

No new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported.

Twenty-five new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 436 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 91,534, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,881 (11,603 recoveries, 210 deaths)

Macao: 52 (51 recoveries)                 

Taiwan: 13,584 (1,133 recoveries, 497 deaths)
