The EU Council on Friday renewed its travel "white list" with 13 new countries including the U.S., Singapore and Israel, recommending member states to lift travel restrictions on nonessential travels.

China's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan were also listed.

The recommendation is nonbinding and national governments have authority to require test results or vaccination records and to set other entry conditions.
