Qinghai Lake in northwest China's Qinghai Province is the country's largest inland saltwater lake. In April 2020, its water area reached 4,543 square kilometers, according to satellite remote sensing data from Qinghai Institute of Meteorological Sciences.
Thanks to an improved ecological environment in recent years, the lake has become a winter home for over 100,000 migratory birds every year, including Chinese black-headed gulls.
