The Chinese mainland recorded 17 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday – one locally transmitted in southern Guangdong Province and 16 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.

No new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported.

A total of 19 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 462 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 91,604, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,886 (11,614 recoveries, 210 deaths)

Macao: 53 (51 recoveries)                 

Taiwan: 14,005 (1,133 recoveries, 549 deaths)
