Dongguan City in south China's Guangdong Province will carry out citywide nucleic acid testing from Monday, local authorities have announced, amid a COVID-19 outbreak.

Guangdong reported one new locally-transmitted COVID-19 case on Sunday from Dongguan, the only confirmed local case registered on the Chinese mainland that day. 

By Sunday, Guangdong had reported a total of 2,699 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,135 imported cases. Currently, 230 patients are being treated in hospitals, provincial health officials said.
