Over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up, concepts like "free our minds" and "seek truth from facts" have helped China promote innovation and deepen reform. Professor Wang Xinsong from the School of Social Development and Public Policy at Beijing Normal University says social development reflects changes in mindset, and society will find ways to survive and thrive once given a chance.
