China will continue to take COVID-19 prevention measures based on scientific analysis, particularly with regards to securing its borders, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Zhao was responding to a query on a foreign report that China plans to extend COVID-19 border restrictions for another year.

China's decision on opening its borders is always adaptive to the evolving situation since the outbreak of the pandemic, Zhao added.
