An art exhibition commemorating the centennial history of the Communist Party of China (CPC) opened at the National Museum of China in Beijing on Tuesday.

Hosted by the China Media Group (CMG) and the National Museum of China, the exhibition displays 100 classical art pieces marking the historical moments in the timeline of the last centenary. It helps visitors better understand the history of the CPC, the People's Republic of China, the reform and opening-up and the development of socialism.

The works, which vary from traditional Chinese paintings to engravings and sculptures, are selected from five prestigious museums – the National Museum of China, the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution, the National Art Museum of China, the CAFA Art Museum and the Guangdong Museum of Art.
