Two earthquakes jolted Aksu Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Friday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
A magnitude-4.7 quake jolted Kucha City in the region at 9:42 a.m. on Friday, said the CENC. The quake's epicenter was located at a depth of 10 km.
Hours later, a magnitude-3.8 quake hit Xayar County in Aksu Prefecture at 12:57 p.m. Its epicenter was at a depth of 16 km, according to the CENC.
