Cymbidium macrorhizon Lindl., a rare species of the boat orchid, was captured blossoming in South Korea's Jeju Island on June 24.
The genus name Cymbidium is derived from the Latin word cymba meaning "cup," "bowl" or "boat."
This species is native to tropical and subtropical Asia, but can also be found in east Asia.
