Thomas Muller of Germany has been preparing for their UEFA European Championship Round of 16 game against England that will take place at Wembley Stadium in London on June 29.

The 31-year-old was removed from the national team two years ago by manager Joachim Loew. However, Loew changed his mind before the postponed European Championship and recruited Muller again for his last major international event.

Germany made it out of Group F together with France and Portugal and the process was not smooth. Muller suffered a knee injury in Germany's 4-2 win over Portugal and only returned off the bench in the last group game against Hungary for the final 25 minutes.

"I am entirely ready to be around for the game," said Muller to Xinhua News Agency.

Having attended the three FIFA World Cup tournaments in 2010, 2014 and 2018 as a member of Germany, Muller scored a total of 10 goals in the world's top football event. Back in South Africa in 2010, he claimed two goals to help Germany beat England 4-1 in the Round of 16 game.

However, Muller never scored even one goal in the European Championship. Though he would love to break that awkward record in the game against the Three Lions, Muller put victory of Germany above everything. "I am in a different role compared to my duties in the club as I see myself more as a supporting force initiating chances for others in the national team," said Muller. "In the national team, I might be more the conductor and assist giver."

"Against England, we won't get many chances, I guess, but I don't see a problem taking the victory by one goal," added the Bavarian icon who believed that his team must "be persistent until the final whistle."

"From now on, it's do-or-die. You got to be ready for that and stay flexible in your actions," said Muller.
