Migrant children testify to living conditions in shelters
00:34

Seventeen testimonials filed in a court case on Monday indicated that migrant children sent to emergency shelters within the U.S. are living in poor conditions.

The children, aged 9 to 17, were described sleeping in crowded spaces, eating spoiled food, as well as a lack of clean clothes and struggled with depression. The testimonials offered a look into a network of emergency shelters built by the U.S. government under President Joe Biden. They aim to deal with a sharp rise in the number of unaccompanied migrant children arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border.
