President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Monday sent a message to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, president of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP), congratulating the CPP on its 70th founding anniversary.

On behalf of the CPC, the people of China and himself, Xi extended his wishes to Hun Sen, the CPP, and the people of Cambodia.

Speaking highly of the contribution Cambodia has made, under the leadership of the CPP in national development and regional stability and prosperity, Xi assured Hun Sen that China will continue supporting Cambodia for its national development path.

He also expressed his full confidence that the CPP, under Hun Sen's leadership, will make a greater contribution to the country and its people, as well as the regional peace and development.

As iron-clad friends and a community with a shared future, China and Cambodia have always maintained a high-level development regarding their relationship, Xi said, hailing the mutual support since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

The two countries have proven the unbreakable and longstanding bilateral ties with concrete actions, according to Xi.

Xi reiterated the CPC's close attention to the friendly cooperation with the CPP, and stressed that he is ready to work with Hun Sen to strengthen the political leading role of the two parties in bilateral relations and to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the two parties so as to push forward the building of China-Cambodia community with a shared future and bring benefits to the two peoples.
