Flying in air, perching on branches and hunting for food, blue-tailed bee-eaters with colorful plumage have a ball in Qiaojia County, southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The blue-tailed bee-eater (Merops philippinus), which has a chestnut-colored throat, green wings and back, blue tail and orange feathers beneath the wings, is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family Meropidae. It eats dragonflies, butterflies, bees, beetles and flies as its main food. It's mainly found in China's Yunnan, Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian and other coastal places.

Feast your eyes on the photos taken on June 27 of this beautiful creature.
