Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, conferred the July 1 Medal on outstanding CPC members at a ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday.
Addressing the ceremony, he praised the medal recipients for staying true to the Party's original aspirations and dedicating themselves to the people. He said they have dedicated everything they own, even their lives, for the Party and the Chinese people.
Putting people's interest at heart, they exemplify what CPC members stand for: "I am ready to give up the self to serve the people."
Xi said the medal awardees represent the Party's spirit of selflessness and fearless dedication. They uphold the Party's tradition of maintaining integrity and being honest in the fulfillment of their duties.
