Flickering fireflies twinkle, dotting a midsummer night at Linggu Temple in Nanjing City, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province.
The firefly, which gets its name from the light that comes from its tail, belongs to the Family Lampyridae which has more than 2,000 species. Fireflies live in the shade of damp trees or grass and fly at low altitudes at night.
Feast your eyes on the photos taken on June 28 on the temple grounds.
