Victoria Panova is the vice president for international affairs at Russia's Far Eastern Federal University in the city of Vladivostok. Ahead of the centenary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), she said the party was a driver of Chinese development and the ideological core of China.

Noting how China quickly overcame the COVID-19 threat, Panova said, "The CPC as a driver for Chinese society was among the factors that emboldened Chinese people to stand together and overcome this trouble and actually show good results."

Panova also pointed to the unprecedented friendship between Russia and China, which she hoped would continue indefinitely.
