'Fairy on water' pheasant-tailed jacana spotted in E China's wetland
CGTN

On Wednesday, at the wetland area near the bank of Poyang Lake in Jiujiang City of east China's Jiangxi Province, couples of pheasant-tailed jacanas were spotted resting and foraging.

The pheasant-tailed jacana has a long and beautiful tail that makes it look like a pheasant and has been dubbed "the fairy on water." It is the longest species in the jacana family if the tail streamers are included and is found in tropical Asia. Though it is a species of "least concern" in the IUCN Red List, its population is declining due to habitat loss.
