China will issue a special set of stamps and a commemorative envelope on July 1 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the State Post Bureau announced on Tuesday.

The new set has 20 distinct stamps, with red fluorescent ink and gold as the main colors. They feature oil paintings that depict critical national events and moments over the past 100 years, ranging from the founding of the People's Republic of China to the eradication of extreme poverty, as well as the buildings and sites of historical and cultural importance, such as the National Stadium.

The commemorative envelope features the Party emblem, the Great Wall and a golden inscription of Chinese characters that say "staying true to the original aspiration and founding mission of the Party."

The new commemorative stamps and envelope was unveiled at the Museum of the Communist Party of China in Beijing on Tuesday. Officials from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, State Post Bureau and China Post Group Corporation attended the launch ceremony.

Noting that stamps are "national name cards" that carry the nation's history and culture, Ma Junsheng, head of the State Post Bureau, said in his speech at the ceremony that the new set of stamps "recalls the history, presents the achievements and expresses the wishes for a better future," highlighting the course of the CPC in the past 100 years and the tremendous changes and great achievements of the nation.
