The founding spirit of the Communist Party of China (CPC) – remaining faithful to the people – has always been the Party's source of strength and will be carried forward, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Thursday.

What China has achieved over the past 100 years has been the result of concerted efforts by Chinese communists and the Chinese people, Xi said at the grand gathering marking the centenary of the CPC in Beijing. The people are the true heroes, for they are creating history, he added.
