Fred Engst: My parents came to help with China's revolution in 1940s
03:05

Erwin Engst and Joan Hinton were international communists from the U.S. who came to China in 1946 and 1948 respectively and would spend the rest of their lives here. Their son, Fred Engst, recalls that at first his parents "didn't have an iron rice bowl, but a golden rice bowl." Yet the couple were determined to live like ordinary people in China.
