The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has invited Chinese experts to join a technical team carrying out work on Japan's plan for disposal of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear plant, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said on Friday.

Wang, speaking at a regular news briefing, again urged Japan to coordinate with the IAEA in conducting technical evaluations and surveillance.

The spokesman also called on Japan not to discharge treated water before the stakeholders, including neighboring countries and international organizations, reached consensus.
