China successfully sent five satellites into planned orbit from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Saturday.
The satellites blasted off atop a Long March-2 carrier rocket at 10:51 a.m. (Beijing Time).They will be used to conduct a survey of the space environment and experiments on related technologies.
Saturday's launch was the 376th by the Long March rocket series.
