Tributary installations and decorative displays, including large flower beds, made for the Communist Party of China's (CPC) centenary celebrations at the Tian'anmen Square in Beijing have been opened for public after a recently concluded grand gathering.

The highlight is a bridge-shaped structure with the CPC's emblem – a hammer and sickle – on top. The year 1921, CPC's founding year, and 2021 adorn the two sides, representing 100 years of the Party's history.

Scores of people from across the country are visiting the square to have a look at the installations despite the temperature hitting 35 to 36 degrees Celsius over the weekend in the Chinese capital.

"We couldn't have a good life without our martyrs' sacrifices," said Tao Zhilin, a 76-year-old Party member, visiting the square from northeast China's Jilin Province with his granddaughter.

"'Please rest assure, we are the one to make our country strong,' is the phrase that impresses me the most," said Chen Sijie, a primary school student from Beijing. "This big Party emblem gives me courage."

The flower beds on both sides of the square are 160 meters long and 30 meters wide with a total of 384,000 flower pots. In addition, 46,000 flowers pots have been used to make the Party emblem and the year symbols.

The display will remain open for visitors until July 15.
