To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), an art exhibition showcasing the Party's history is on display at the National Museum of China in Beijing.

The 100 most representative classic works of fine arts reflecting the various historical periods since the founding of the CPC have won wide acclaim from the audience.

The exhibition is based on the one-hundred episode special program "Party History in Classic Fine Arts" of China Media Group (CMG). It reflects on the major events in the development of Party history over the past century.

The exhibits include traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture and other art categories.

Among them, the oil painting "[Late Chinese leader] Mao Zedong's Journey to Northern Shaanxi," the sculpture "Trumpeter," and the traditional Chinese painting "Crossing the Jinsha River" are all works created in the 1950s and 1960s that are rarely open to the public.

The exhibition is co-organized by CMG and the National Museum of China and will be on display until July 25.
