The Chinese mainland recorded 23 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Monday, three cases of local transmission of the virus in southwest China's Yunnan Province and 20 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.
In addition, 25 new asymptomatic cases, two from Yunnan and 23 from overseas, were recorded, while 446 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 91,892, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.
The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:
Hong Kong: 11,943 (11,638 recoveries, 212 deaths)
Macao: 55 (51 recoveries)
Taiwan: 15,061 (11,008 recoveries, 689 deaths)
