The launch of "Beginning of the Great Revival" on Box Brazil Group kicks off the Chinese Film and Television Program Exhibition. /CMG

Brazilian mainstream media company – Box Brazil Group – broadcast the film "Beginning of the Great Revival" on its Prime Box Brazil channel on July 6, opening a months-long Chinese Film and Television Program Exhibition.

The "Chinese Film and Television Program Exhibition" is co-organized by the China Media Group (CMG) and Box Brazil. It is the first large-scale exhibition of Chinese films, programs and documentaries on Brazilian mainstream media.

At least 10 films and television programs will be shown. The exhibition is broadly divided into three sections with the first one focusing on film exhibits, which includes several outstanding Chinese films such as "Beginning of the Great Revival" and "Kids of Wuzhumuqin Town." The second is on Chinese documentaries with two excellent factual films "China Reinvents Itself" and "By the Lalin Riverside: Land of Hope" to be aired. The third section is for Chinese TV series featuring productions like "Perfect Youth," "Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy," and "Swan Dive for Love" on the Prime Box Brazil channel and online platforms. 

The exhibition will run until February 2022.

Shen Haixiong, president of the China Media Group (CMG), delivered a speech at the launch ceremony, expressing warm congratulations on the Chinese Film and Television Program Exhibition. Shen said that with the joint guidance of the presidents of China and Brazil, the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations has constantly deepened, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges have been enhanced. The China Media Group and its Brazilian media counterpart have been cooperating innovatively in broader areas with enriched content, playing a role in promoting bilateral relations between the countries. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the launch of the exhibition is a new attempt to strengthen cooperation and promote cultural exchanges with Brazilian media.

China's ambassador to Brazil, Yang Wanming, said he expected the Brazilian audience to get closer to China by watching Chinese films and learning about the culture and history of China, a country with an ancient civilization, and experiencing the vitality of contemporary China and the kindness and friendliness of its people. Yang also said that cultural exchange is important for Sino-Brazilian friendship. The Chinese embassy in Brazil is always willing to contribute to the enhancement of people-to-people understanding between the two countries.

Eduardo Leite, governor of Rio Grande do Sul, where the Box Brazil Group is headquartered, speaking via video, said that culture, art and entertainment can improve understanding between people and achieve mutual integration. Rio Grande do Sul is particularly proud of this cooperation between China Media Group and Box Brazil Group. "This is good news for our economy, especially for the cultural and artistic industries. Rio Grande do Sul would like to celebrate for this exhibition and hopes that this kind of cooperation will make China and Brazil closer to each other," Leite said.

Cicero Aragon, president of Box Brazil Group, said that the event has shortened the cultural distance between China and Brazil and created a new bond for the media cooperation between the two countries, "It is a great moment," he said.

The Brazilian audience spoke highly of the launch of the exhibition and believe that it is rich in content and will help the Brazilian people to enhance their understanding of Chinese history and reality.
